Ram temple fund embezzlement: Sharma demands FIR & inquiry monitored by sitting Judge of SC

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

The national spokesperson of Congress party, Alok Sharma has demanded immediate registration of FIR in the alleged regularities and misuse of funds in offerings to the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Interacting with the mediapersons at the State headquarters of the Congress party on Tuesday, Sharma said that Congress party wants that the Shri Ram Temple Trust should be dissolved immediately and criminal cases should be immediately registered against all those involved in the alleged scam. He said that the details of all bank accounts related to the temple and CCTV footage should be made public.

He claimed that some trustees of the Ram Temple Trust are raising concerns about irregularities in donations, but the BJP and RSS are maintaining silence on this serious issue. He said that the information suggests that the matter is extremely serious and widespread. Previously, individuals associated with the Trust were accused of irregularities in land purchases, but the results of the investigations conducted by the committees formed in those cases have not been made public.

He also stated that allegations of 40 per cent commission were made by an engineer involved in the temple construction, and that those who attempted to raise these issues were expelled from the trust.

Questioning the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue, Sharma said that the PM likes to take credit for every achievement of the country  and therefore, he bears moral responsibility for the alleged financial scams and theft of offerings related to the Ram Temple. He alleged that the BJP which came to power in the name of Lord Shri Ram is now protecting corruption and plunder in the name of that faith.

Sharma said that the greatest threat to Sanatan Dharma today is not from external forces, but from the policies and politics of the BJP and RSS and the corruption that thrives under their patronage. He alleged that the SIT formed by the Uttar Pradesh government is not aimed at reaching the real culprits, but rather at protecting prominent individuals and covering up the matter. He said that the entire country wants a fair inquiry in every aspect of the case.

The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni, former Mahanagar president Lalchand Sharma and spokesperson Sheeshpal Singh Bisht accompanied Sharma.
