The IMA Blood Bank of Uttarakhand celebrated World Blood Donor Day by organising a programme on Sunday. The theme of the programme was ‘One drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives’. The programme was inaugurated by the officiating president of IMA Blood Bank Society of Uttarakhand, Dr Suresh Goel and was followed by lightning of lamp by the MLA Savita Kapoor who was the chief guest. In her address, Kapoor appreciated the noble work being done by the blood bank for the society and extended her best wishes. She also congratulated all the voluntary blood donors and donor organizations for their contribution and support towards the needy patient.
On this occasion, DIT University, Dehradun was felicitated with ‘Smt Subhadra Shah Memorial Award’ for the highest blood donations during the year (2025-26). The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun and BALTI Youth Federation, Ambari, Vikasnagar were also felicitated.
