Senior KU scientist among 2% global researchers

The senior professor of the department of Chemistry, DSB campus, Kumaun University, Prof Nanda Gopal Sahu has consistently been ranked in the Stanford University’s list of ‘Top 2% Scientists of the World 2024’ for the past six years, demonstrating his research prowess globally.
Notably, this list provides two types of rankings: single-year (2024), which reflects research impact only in 2024, and career-long, which reflects the total contribution of an entire research career.
In 2024, Sahu’s single-year rank was 632 in Polymer Science and 761 in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, while his career-long rank was 2090 and 1891, respectively. His experimental and theoretical research has earned him recognition in the global scientific community, having been published in numerous high-impact international journals.
His research interests focus particularly on polymer and nanomaterials, energy storage systems, environmentally sustainable chemical processes and development of advanced materials. The KU vice- chancellor, Prof Diwan Singh Rawat along with several others congratulated Prof Sahu on his achievement.
