A shocking murder came to light in Haridwar on Monday when a jilted lover slashed the throat of a young woman in the SIIDCUL police station area in the afternoon. The accused ran away after murdering the woman.
According to sources, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh native Pradeep Pal, currently residing in Haridwar confronted Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh native Hansika Yadav (22) and slashed her throat. The woman died on the spot. Initial inquiries have revealed that the two were in a relationship for the past four years. However, the two were not talking to each other for some time now due to some disagreement. Their relationship had reportedly soured due to a third person.
Taking an extreme step in response to the situation, Pal used a knife to slash Yadav’s throat in broad daylight. The police reached the scene of crime on being informed about the incident. The accused had escaped from the scene by the time the police arrived. The police said that the post mortem process had been initiated and that the family members were also being contacted to inform them about the incident.
The Haridwar senior superintendent of police Pramendra Singh Dobal informed that the police are searching various locations to nab the accused. The murder and related aspects are being investigated by the police. The victim Hansika Yadav, who was currently living in the Navodaynagar area of the city, had been living in Haridwar for the past few years. She was working at a factory in the SIIDCUL area.
