The vice- chancellor of Kumaun University, Diwan Singh Rawat stated that the institution has achieved an outstanding performance in the India Today Best Universities Rankings 2026 by securing 25th place in the national ranking of public universities. “This is the university’s best India Today ranking to date,” he added.
While congratulating the university’s faculty members, officers, staff and students, he said that the university’s national ranking has consistently improved over the past three years. The university achieved 300th place in 2023, 28th place in 2024, 27th place in 2025, and 25th place in 2026. He stated that this consistent improvement in rankings is a result of the university’s academic quality, research activities, institutional development, and positive changes taking place in the overall academic environment.
The VC attributed this remarkable achievement to the collective hard work, commitment, and relentless pursuit of excellence of the entire university family. He said that this five-place advancement in three years is a testament to Kumaun University’s continued progress and growing academic reputation at the national level.
