Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, the vice- chancellor of Kumaun University, Prof Diwan Singh Rawat planted bamboo, Kilmora and Hisalu saplings near K P Hostel inside DSB campus.
The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan coordinator, Anil K Bisht stated that several locations on the Haldwani-Nainital motorway that were affected by landslides during the rainy season have been identified and erosion-preventing shrubs and trees would soon be planted there as part of the campaign.
A message on environmental protection was also given on this occasion as part of the National Service Scheme’s foundation day.
