Kumbh duty assigned to 2 IPS officers

Uttarakhand government has started gearing up for the successful hosting of the Kumbh 2027 in Haridwar. As part of the preparations for the Kumbh the State government appointed two senior IPS officers on Mela duty.

The State government changed the responsibilities of four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers on Friday.

In an order signed by the Home secretary Shailesh Bagauli, the responsibility of Inspector General Personnel/ headquarters has been taken away from Yogendra Singh Rawat. He is transferred to the position of IG Kumbh 2027.  Similarly, the Ayush Agarwal who currently holds the position of senior superintendent of police, Tehri has been transferred to Haridwar as SSP Kumbh Mela. The commandant India Reserve Battalion (IRB) II Sweta Chaubey has been transferred to the position of SSP Tehri. SP Crime against women/ CCTNS/ training Vishakha Ashok Bhadane will be the new commandant of IRB II.
