In a chilling slash attack, a young woman and a young man, who had been in a relationship for long, allegedly stabbed each other amid heated altercation in Clement Town area of Dehradun on Saturday. While the girl had suffered a deep cut on her neck- nearly seven inches wide- the boy had sustained a deep gashing wound too near his neck and on arms, police said. Both were rushed to Government Doon Hospital and doctors said they were out of danger.
According to the police, the incident took place in the Ogal Bhatta area around 1:15 PM. Sharing details, the superintendent of police (SP) city, Pramod Kumar said that both are first-year MCA students studying at a private institute in Clement Town.
“They had been in a relationship for a long time. However, recently the girl was allegedly in contact with another boy, which led to a dispute between the two,” he added.
As per police officials with details, the girl, in a fit of rage during arguments, stabbed the boy on his neck with a knife following which the boy did the same to her.
Police said further action will be taken after their statements are recorded.
