District Magistrate Savin Bansal has ordered revenue officers to quickly resolve all cases that are more than one year, on Thursday. The instructions were given during a review meeting held with revenue officials to check the progress of pending cases, land-related matters and recovery of government dues.
The DM directed that cases pending at the tehsil level under different sections should be cleared on priority. He said undisputed cases must be settled first. He also ordered that no case related to changing agricultural land for residential, commercial or industrial use should remain pending. Work related to correcting errors in land records should be completed faster, and land demarcation cases should be handled quickly with proper procedures.
Bansal expressed strong displeasure over the slow progress of land partition work in Sadar, Vikasnagar and Doiwala tehsils. He fixed responsibility of revenue officers and warned of strict action in case of negligence. Regular reviews at the tehsil level and progress checks every ten days were also ordered.
During the meeting, recovery of government dues was reviewed. Officials informed that more than 82 percent recovery has been achieved so far. However, recovery in Chakrata, Tyuni and Kalsi tehsils was below target. The DM directed officers to speed up recovery from big defaulters and coordinate with the GST department for this purpose.
