The workers of Mahila Congress staged a protest and burned the effigy of the State government here on Tuesday following new revelations in the Ankita Bhandari murder case.
Addressing the party workers, the president of Mahila Congress Jyoti Rautela said that Urmila Sanawar, the purported wife of former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore has revealed that the ‘VIP’ in the Ankita Bhandari murder case was Dushyant Kumar Gautam who is the national general secretary of BJP and the State in-charge of Uttarakhand.
Similarly, the former district Panchayat member Arti Gaur has disclosed that a bulldozer was used on the Vanantra resort on the order of the local BJP MLA Renu Bisht. She said that it is now proved that top leaders of BJP are involved in the murder of Ankita Bhandari and the BJP functionaries and leaders are involved in cases of crime against women. Rautela said that the police failed to disclose the name of the VIP involved in the murder of Ankita Bhandari but now the revelation made by the wife of former MLA has proved that the police were shielding the BJP leaders.
She said that the bulldozer was used in the Vanantra resort to destroy evidence in the murder case. The Congress leader said that the director general of Police should explain as to why the telephonic conversation between the then DGP and father of Ankita Bhandari was deliberately released on the social media platform.
She added that there are many questions in the Ankita Bhandari murder case which have remained unanswered and the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the DGP should answer them.
