Govindghat-Hemkund Sahib ropeway to ease pilgrimage: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Govindghat-Hemkund Sahib ropeway is being constructed to facilitate the journey of Sikh pilgrims to Hemkund Sahib. He said this while attending a programme at the Race Course Gurdwara, held to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur on Tuesday.
During the event, the CM paid respects at the Gurdwara and participated in Shabad Kirtan. He also met with officials from the Race Course Gurudwara, who honored him with a memento. Dhami served langar to the devotees, emphasising the importance of community service.
In his tribute to the Guru, Dhami stated that he occupies a unique position among those who sacrificed their lives to uphold religion, human values and principles. He highlighted that the Guru’s message promotes love, unity and brotherhood, inspiring harmony within society. Additionally, he said that the benefits of minority educational institutions are being extended to the Sikh community.
