The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) carried out a demolition drive against illegal constructions and unauthorised plotting in Sahaspur and Mussoorie on Tuesday.
In Sahaspur’s Sherpur area, MDDA demolished development work related to an illegal plotting project spread over nearly five bighas of land near the new highway. The team also demolished an unauthorised construction near a school in the Selaqui area.
A separate MDDA team took action in Kolukhet on Mussoorie Road, where an illegal construction carried out by some individuals was demolished.
The MDDA vice-chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said they are committed to ensuring planned and legal development in the region. He warned that strict action, including demolition and sealing of properties, will continue against those violating the rules. He also appealed to people to obtain all necessary approvals before starting any construction work to avoid legal action.
