The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) on Wednesday took action against illegal construction and demolished illegal plotting spread over 15 to 20 bigha of land. It also sealed an illegal multi-storey building during the drive.
A drive was conducted in Mehuwala Mafi, where illegal plotting was being developed on around 15 to 20 bigha land without approval. The land was reportedly being developed near Durga Vihar Colony. MDDA used bulldozers to demolish the illegal plotting and clear the site in the presence of the police personnel.
The authority also took sealing action in Jakhan and Kuthal Gate areas. An illegal multi-storey building near Johri Road in Jakhan was sealed by the officials. In Kuthal Gate, three separate illegal constructions were sealed during the drive.
The MDDA vice-chairman, Banshidhar Tiwari said these constructions were being raised without permission.
MDDA secretary Mohan Singh Barniya appealed to the residents not to take part in illegal plotting or construction. He asked people to inform them if they notice any illegal activity in their area.
