The BJP veteran and former Uttarakhand chief minister, Bhagat Singh Koshyari said that the next decade would be Uttarakhand’s only if the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami were strengthened while addressing a symposium.
“With a string of achievements adorning his tenure as CM, Dhami has emerged as a popular leader in the last four years. His most notable quality is humility and this is why even the opposition leaders and activists refrain from criticising him personally. It is difficult to remain polite and pleasant in politics, but no one has seen Dhami speak harshly in these four years,” he said.
He further said that when things warranted sternness the CM was not found wanting in it, too.
The vice- chancellor, Doon University, Prof Surekha Dangwal, who was a member of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) committee, lauded the boldness the CM had shown in implementing UCC in the State despite being aware of the challenges he might confront.
The other dignitaries who addressed the gathering were the vice chancellor, Uttarakhand Open University, Prof Navin Chandra Lohani and director general, UCOST, Prof Durgesh Pant.
