Multitudes participate in Nagar Parikrama in Dehradun

Following the raising of the 94-feet Jhanda Ji (holy flagpole), the Nagar Parikrama took place on Tuesday under the leadership of Mahant Devendra Das. More than 25,000 Sangat devotees participated in the Parikrama, which began at 7:30 AM from Darbar Sahib.
As the Nagar Parikrama passed through various parts of the city, locals welcomed the devotees with showers of flowers. Throughout the route, people chanted slogans praising Shri Guru Ram Rai. The Nagar Parikrama was part of the celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Guru Ram Rai and took place on the third day after the hoisting of Jhande Ji. Devotees were greeted at every stop along the route, with arrangements made for Langar and refreshments at various points.
The Nagar Parikrama commenced at Shri Darbar and passed through various areas including Kanwali Road, Bindal, Tilak Road, Tagore Villa, Clock Tower, Paltan Bazaar and Bombaybagh before concluding at 11:45 AM. Mahant Devendra Das said that Jhanda Mela is not only a religious event but also a symbol of love, brotherhood and harmony. He thanked the authorities and locals for their cooperation.
