The police may invoke the Gangster Act against the accused in the Arjun Sharma murder case. It should be noted that in this case the police have already arrested Sharma’s mother Beena Sharma, Vinod Uniyal and Dr Ajay Khanna. The two shooters who fired at Sharma were also arrested after a brief encounter with the police.
Dehradun senior superintendent of police Pramendra Dobal said that the police are considering imposing the Gangster Act against the accused involved in the murder which was committed earlier in February. Sharma was shot dead by two shooters in front of the Tibetan Market.
During the investigation, the police found that the murder was the result of a property dispute. Sharma was the owner of a gas agency in which his mother was also a half partner. Two other accused were also involved along with his mother in the conspiracy. According to the police, Uniyal had given Rs 12 lakh to his driver to arrange the killing of Sharma.
Police also stated that Sharma’s mother allegedly shared her son’s location with the shooters. She had called the gas agency manager to ask about Sharma’s daily routine. The very next day, when Sharma returned after playing tennis, one of the shooters fired at him, resulting in his death.
