In an important development, the Supreme Court Collegium headed by the Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud recommended the appointment of Justice Narendra G-a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court- as the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court. Notably, the current Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court Ritu Bahri is retiring on October 10. The appointment of Justice Narendra G will be deemed to be effective from October 10 itself.
Justice Narendra G who hails from Karnataka started his judicial journey in 2015 from the Karnataka High Court and was transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court in 2023.
