Operation Prahar: 114 anti-social elements held, 15 arrested, 47 warrantees nabbed

Under Operation Prahar during the past four days the police in Dehradun have arrested 15 accused involved in criminal activities. Along with this, 65 wanted accused, including 47 warrant holders were also arrested from different areas of the district.

Police also took action against anti-social elements and arrested 114 people, including 41 individuals who were creating disturbance in public places. During the drive, police verified 1,621 suspicious persons and took 25 people into custody. Legal action was taken against 645 people under the Police Act for violations such as drinking in public places and not completing tenant verification. Two persons were also arrested with illegal weapons.

Police issued challans to 886 drivers, arrested 88 people for drunk and rash driving, and seized 199 vehicles. At the same time, police conducted surprise inspections at around 300 establishments like pubs, bars, hotels, and dhabas. Action was taken against six owners for breaking rules, two establishments were shut down, and 24 other people faced legal action. Police officials said that the campaign will continue in both urban and rural areas to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
