Dat Kali Mandir closed temporarily for security reasons

The Dat Kali Mandir was closed to the public on Sunday evening due to security reasons. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the temple’s Mahant Raman Prasad Goswami on Sunday. The temple committee Sevadars Dinesh Agrawal and Gaurav Kumar informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit Dehradun on Tuesday. The PM is scheduled to offer prayers at Dat Kali on his arrival here. Due to the PM’s proposed visit, the temple was closed to devotees at 5 PM on Sunday and will remain closed till 2 PM on April 14 due to security reasons. They appealed to the devotees to pay their obeisance to the goddess in the temple after the 2 PM on Tuesday. It is pertinent to mention here that the historical shrine to the goddess at the entrance to Dehradun is visited by thousands of people on a daily basis.
