The picturesque lake city Nainital witnessed a huge influx of weekend tourists. Over 30,000 tourists were estimated to have visited the city in three days. While the previous two days saw tourists stuck in traffic jams, Sunday’s traffic system was largely smooth, to their immense relief.

Notably, the arrival of tourists in large numbers started from Friday, which continued till Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, the figure was about 20,000, while it swelled to about 30,000 on Sunday.

The tourists reached Snow View, Himalaya Darshan, Waterfall, Cave Garden and Zoo, while Mall Road also remained lively and there was a long queue of tourists for boating throughout the day.

Meanwhile, a large number of tourists have also visited the tourist destinations near the city like Bhimtal, Sattal, Naukuchiatal, Bhowali, Mukteshwar and Kainchi Dham. These places bustled with large tourist footfalls, cheering those associated with the tourism industry. Sounding happy over the swelling influx of visitors, the president of the Nainital Hotels and Restaurants Association, Digvijay Singh Bisht said that as the season is in its final stages, many more are expected to arrive until the end of this month.
