Rising thefts plague district hospital

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Nainital

The rising thefts at the state-run BD Pandey District Hospital has raised concerns among patients, attendants and hospital administration. Despite the security measures in place, the thefts continue unabated, raising questions about the hospital’s security.
Notably, in the recent past, two commodes were stolen from the hospital’s washrooms while a bag was stolen too.  The hospital staff handed two suspects over to the police, but even then the stealing spree continues.

The hospital principal, Dr TK Tamta stated that several complaints have been lodged with the police in this regard. “We have requested regular patrols in the hospital premises and surrounding areas,” he added.
