Path to innovation with AI: KU organises workshop

An online workshop on the topic of Use of AI Tools and 14.0 for Innovation and Incubation was organised jointly by the Directorate of Visiting Professors and Innovation and Incubation Centre, Kumaun University, Nainital.
The director of the School of Vocational Education at Uttarakhand Open University, Prof Ashutosh Kumar Bhatt delivered the keynote address at the workshop. Prof Lalit Tiwari moderated the workshop.
The KU sources said that the workshop aimed to provide students, researchers and faculty with an understanding of emerging technologies and connect them with the innovation and startup ecosystem. Participants were informed that in the era of pervasive computing, a single computer was used by many people, but now countless devices are powered by cloud technology.
The speakers dwelt on the role of AI and advanced computing systems from social media data to weather forecasting. Presently, AI is being actively used in healthcare, law, industry, and other sectors, they added.
Prof Tiwari spoke of the negative uses of AI, arguing that strict regulations should be in place.
