Dehradun district administration under the district magistrate Savin Bansal has approved an amount of Rs 12 lakh for the repair work and furniture in the public library at Tyuni. Out of the sanctioned amount, around seven lakh has already been released by the district magistrate.
According to the information, an amount of Rs 12 lakh has been approved for the repair work and furniture of the public library. Also the first instalment of Rs 7.20 lakh has already been released. The remaining amount will be given after progress is reviewed and necessary reports are submitted.
The decision was taken after students and a local tribal organisation requested the district magistrate to provide a proper library in Tyuni during his visit to the area. Following this, the administration prepared an estimate and placed the proposal before the District Mineral Foundation Trust, which approved the funds.
Officials said the library will help students in their studies, preparation for competitive examinations and increase reading habits in the area. The work will be carried out by the Rural Construction Department under the supervision of the district administration.
District magistrate Savin Bansal said that providing quality education facilities in remote and border areas is a top priority for the administration. He added that libraries play a key role in shaping the future of students and the government will continue to take such steps to strengthen education infrastructure across the district.
