Preserving cultural heritage & faith our top priority: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said the State government’s top priority is to conserve the cultural heritage and faith in the State. He was addressing a programme organised on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti at Shri Hanuman Dham in Chhoi, Ramnagar on Thursday. 

The CM said that Uttarakhand is a land of gods and its cultural heritage should be protected.

 “Strict laws are being enforced in the State and continuous efforts are being made to maintain religious harmony. Uttarakhand has become the first State in the country to implement a Uniform Civil Code, setting an example for the entire nation,’’ he said.

 Dhami said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a resolution has been made to make Uttarakhand the best State in the country. He expressed confidence that with everyone’s cooperation and blessings, this resolution will surely be fulfilled. 

He said that beautification and infrastructure development work is ongoing at the State’s major religious sites, including Kedarkhand and Manaskhand. 

The CM said that the upcoming Kumbh Mela is a matter of faith not only for Uttarakhand but for the entire country. Preparations for the Kumbh Mela,2027 have already begun. The winter pilgrimage is also underway in the State and will continue until the doors of the Char Dham shrines open. So far, approximately 160,000 devotees have visited various religious sites during the winter pilgrimage.

The CM said that under the leadership of PM Modi, a grand Ram Temple has been constructed in Ayodhya. The construction of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor has provided unprecedented facilities to devotees. Extensive development work is also underway at Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines, further strengthening Uttarakhand’s identity.

Cabinet minister Ram Singh Kaida and other leaders also attended the programme.
