Rain and snowfall likely in eight districts today

Following the season’s first rain and snowfall on January 23, the weather has been clear in most parts of the State. However, the State Meteorological Centre has forecast very light to light rain/snowfall (at places situated at altitudes of 2,800 metres and above) likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Dehradun, Nainital and Tehri districts on Monday. Shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur in the plain areas of the State while dry weather is likely to prevail in remaining districts today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. Mist is likely to occur during the morning hours with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be 24 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively on Monday. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Sunday were 23.2 degrees Celsius and 8.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 21 degrees Celsius and 6.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 13.1 degrees Celsius and 1.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14.8 degrees Celsius and 1.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri
