The recent snowfall in the region has attracted a number of tourists to the winter sports destination of Auli. However, tourists are finding it difficult to reach Auli in their vehicles due to the snow on the road. The snow along with frost on the Auli road is making it difficult for tourists to reach their destination in their vehicles.
The snowfall on January 23 has brought a much needed boost in the tourism business even as a number of tourists are reaching Auli to enjoy the snow and the views. However, the problems have not decreased with the change in weather. After the weather cleared, a stretch of the Auli Road is covered in frost which is posing a hindrance to the vehicular traffic to and from the popular destination. Only four wheel drive vehicles and the vehicles of the locals are reaching Auli while many vehicles of the tourists are unable to reach this destination. Due to this, the locals are using the local vehicles to reach the location.
According to officials of the Jyotirmath police station, tourist vehicles are not being allowed to travel to Auli from Jyotirmath.
