A vehicle carrying relief material for the calamity-affected people of Uttarkashi, was dispatched from Ved Mandir Ashram here on Monday. The district Panchayat president, Kiran Chaudhary flagged off the vehicle and appealed to all to come forward to help the flood- affected people.
The relief consignment consisted of flour, rice, sugar, spices, gram, tea, soap and biscuits among others.
The former Cabinet minister Swami Yatishwaranand said that whenever a disaster strikes people from across the State as well as from other states come forward in a show of humanitarian solidarity. The veteran social activists Deepak and Kalpana Rajput assured that they would continue to help the flood victims.
