SDC Foundation launches project PAHAL 2.0 to raise climate awareness

The Social Development for Communities (SDC) Foundation, with support from Ramboll, launched project PAHAL 2.0 – the Youth Climate and Leadership Programme at PM SHRI Government Girls’ Inter College (GGIC), Rajpur Road, Dehradun, on Wednesday.  The project aims to transcend basic awareness of climate issues and create meaningful skill-building opportunities for young people.

The launch was attended by students and teachers from both government and private schools of Dehradun, along with education experts and representatives from the development sector. 

Principal of PM SHRI GGIC Premlata Baudai attended as the chief guest and emphasised the significance of enhancing climate awareness and leadership among young people.  The co-founder of SDC Foundation, Rishabh Shrivastava presented the learning framework for the programme and elaborated on the key modules, learning approaches and competencies that project PAHAL 2.0 aims to cultivate among students.

The founder of SDC Foundation Anoop Nautiyal said, “Climate change is increasingly impacting the lives and futures of young people. Through project PAHAL 2.0, we aim to go beyond mere awareness and empower students to acquire the knowledge, skills and leadership needed to understand environmental challenges and make meaningful contributions to solutions in their schools and communities.”
