Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman surpassed the record of the former Prime Minister Morarji Desai as she presented her straight seventh Union Budget for 2024-25. This is also the first Budget after Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government was formed for the third straight term.
Presenting a bright picture of future India on the economic plane, she said that the country’s economic growth graph has been ascending steadily despite the global economy remaining in the grip of policy uncertainty.
Assuring the people that the inflation is stable and under control, she said that it is now heading towards 4 per cent while the core inflation is standing at 3.1 per cent.
