CM Dhami pays tribute to Ambedkar on Constitution Day

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid glowing tributes to the framer of Indian constitution Bhimrao Ambedkar in a programme organised at Constitution Day on Wednesday at the Police Line in Dehradun. During the event, he administered the oath of the preamble of the Indian constitution to everyone present.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that November 26, 1949 is a historic day because the Constituent Assembly formally adopted the constitution of India on this day. The Chief Minister said that many important steps are being taken to make the justice system modern and strong. He said that the government has implemented the Bharatiya Nagarik Sanhita 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023. He added that efforts are being made to provide fast and simple justice to people. He mentioned projects like e-courts, digital case management, fast-track courts, teleconferencing for hearings, and special systems for crime against women and children.
CM Dhami said that the State government is working to strengthen the justice system in Uttarakhand. New court buildings are being constructed and old ones are being improved. Digital courts, e-filing, and virtual hearing are also being expanded. He said that steps are being taken to improve legal education, support young lawyers. He also highlighted the state’s important decisions like the strict anti-cheating law and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
During the programme, he announced that the government will provide financial help to the Prosecution department for spreading awareness about the new criminal laws. He added that the department will also receive support for digitalisation work. Dhami said that the prosecution service is an important part of the justice system. It helps bring out the truth and makes the justice process transparent and effective.
Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli, secretary Shailesh Bagauli, director general Police Deepam Seth, director Prosecution AP Anshuman and others attended the programme.
