A man died on Monday after a violent clash between two neighbouring families in the Bhojawala area under Vikasnagar police station in Dehradun. The deceased was identified as Sudesh Pundir. The incident took place on February 6 at around 9 AM.
According to a complaint filed by Pradeep Pundir, his brother Sudesh Pundir was watering the boundary wall of their house when their neighbour Ajay Pal objected, saying that the water should not flow into his drain. Soon, an argument started between them.
According to the complaint, Ajay Pal allegedly began abusing the family members. When Pradeep and his brother tried to calm the situation, Pal reportedly called his two sons, Vansh and Kanishth. They allegedly came with sticks and iron rods and started attacking the family. During the fight, Pundir was hurt and fell to the ground unconscious.
Local residents gathered at the spot and intervened. The injured man was taken to Lehman Hospital in a car arranged by a neighbour. He died later during treatment.
The complaint further alleges that the accused threatened the family before fleeing the spot. The family has claimed that Pal has a criminal background and that they fear for their safety. The police have received the complaint and are investigating the matter.
