Stone crushers happy over mining director receiving award

The Kumaon Stone Crusher Association and the Sitarganj Stone Crusher Association expressed happiness over the State’s Mining director, Rajpal Legha being conferred with India’s Honest Independence Honour in recognition of his outstanding work in the mining sector.

The members of the association stated that Legha has played a significant role in improving the mining system in Uttarakhand under the guidance of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Under his stewardship, the Mining department has taken a slew of important steps to streamline and streamline the state’s mining system.

They stated that his e-governance and digitization moves have boosted trade and revenue growth. Besides, he has controlled illegal mining and the use of modern technology he initiated has led to positive changes in mining, resulting in increased revenue and benefits for businesses. Due to these reforms, more than half of the previously closed crushers have now reopened, they said.

They further said that in the last one and a half years, Uttarakhand government has received four times the revenue from mining, which has increased from Rs 300 crore to Rs 1200 crore.
“The stone crushing industry is the state’s s largest one, generating thousands of crores of rupees in taxes from royalties, forest transit, GST, income tax and RTO while providing direct and indirect employment to 2 to 3 lakh people. This has led to a reform of the mineral market, which had previously been shrinking. This is a significant achievement,” a senior member of Kumaon Stone Crusher Association said.
