The Sports department is inviting public suggestions until July 30 for the drafting of the State new sports policy. Players, coaches, sports experts, sports associations, parents, teachers, sports enthusiasts and ordinary citizens can submit their suggestions through an online portal, email or postal mail.
After a meeting on Monday, the Sports minister Rekha Arya stated that valuable suggestions will be considered for inclusion in the new sports policy and those providing particularly insightful suggestions will be honoured. She emphasised that the government aims to create a sports policy that addresses the State’s needs and promotes the overall development of athletes.
“To ensure public participation in policymaking, suggestions have been solicited from the community. All submissions will be reviewed and relevant ideas will be incorporated into the new sports policy,” Arya said, adding that a sports policy to be developed with community involvement will provide a new direction for sports development in Uttarakhand.
