Three arrested after youth dies from glass injury in Raipur

The Raipur police arrested three people on Sunday after a 22-year-old man died from injuries caused by broken glass in Dehradun’s Raksha Vihar, Muslim Basti area under Raipur police station area. The accused were arrested in Raipur in connection with the death of the youth, identified as Iftikhar.
The three arrested accused have been identified as Arish, 28, Anas, 22, and Javed, 23, all residents of Raksha Vihar, Chuna Bhatta, Raipur. The Raipur police registered a case based on the complaint filed by Iftikhar’s family.
According to the police, Iftikhar and one of the accused, Anas, were friends and were sitting at Anas’s office on Saturday evening. Police said that the two had a bet over drinking milk and both drank about one kilogramme of milk. They later started pushing each other as part of a strength contest.
Police said that Iftikhar fell onto a glass door during the incident. The glass broke and injured him near his right arm, causing heavy bleeding. His friends took him to Mahant Indiresh Hospital, where he died during treatment.
