Three new dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Three new cases of dengue were reported in the Dehradun district on Friday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, informed that two of the cases were reported from Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and one from Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital. This increases the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 226, which includes 116 cases from Dehradun itself and 110 cases from other districts and States.

Currently, there are 20 active dengue patients receiving treatment. Of these, 11 are being treated at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two at Himalayan Hospital, five at Graphic Era Hospital, one at GDMC hospital and one patient is being treated at home. On Friday, health officials collected a total of 132 dengue samples, bringing the overall number of tested samples to 12,439.

Additionally, on Friday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and Health department volunteers conducted 10,504 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, larvae were found in 212 homes. To date, the health department has completed a total of 11,90,118 surveys, with 8,065 yielding positive results. ASHA workers and volunteers also inspected 73,244 containers, discovering that 269 contained larvae as of Friday. Overall, they have examined 79,09,784 containers, with 10,916 testing positive for larvae.
