Tilu Rauteli & Anganwadi Worker awards presented to 49 women

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented the Tilu Rauteli Award and Anganwadi Worker Award 2022-23 at a function on Tuesday. Fourteen women were presented the Tilu Rauteli Award while 35 were presented the Anganwadi Worker Award. A sum of Rs 51,000 each was digitally transferred to the accounts of the award recipients.
Dhami said that he felt privileged awarding women for their contributions in various spheres. Praising the valour and personality of Tilu Rauteli he recalled that she had fought seven battles between the age of 15 and 22 years. He said that the State government had increased the Tilu Rauteli award money from Rs 31,000 to Rs 51,000 while the Anganwadi Worker award money had been raised from Rs 21,000 to Rs 51,000. Dhami said that the State government is committed to strengthening the condition of Anganwadi centres and is working consistently in this direction. He said that after the parents, children are imparted values at Anganwadi centres.
Praising the work of Anganwadi workers, he said that the State government had increased their honourarium from Rs 7,500 to Rs 9,300 while the honourarium of mini-Anganwadi workers had been increased from Rs 4,500 to Rs 6,250 and the honourarium of assistants had been increased from Rs 3,550 to Rs 5,250. The CM said that women have played a vital role in all spheres for the development of Uttarakhand. He appreciated the manner in which women self help groups even in remote villages were giving a boost to the rural economy through cottage industry. He also spoke about the various measures and schemes undertaken by the State government for the empowerment of women.
Women Empower and Child Development minister Rekha Arya said that the Dhami government is consistently working for women empowerment in the State. She said that the progress of women in society can be ensured only after getting rid of social discrimination
