Top officials check preparations for PM’s Doon visit

With final touches being given to preparations for the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14, chief secretary Anand Bardhan and director general of police Deepam Seth inspecte the preparations at the venue along with other officials on Saturday.

Bardhan and Seth checked the preparations on the stretch from the Dat Kali Mandir to Mahindra Ground in Garhi cantonment. The chief secretary instructed officials to ensure that there are no gaps in the security arrangements. A concrete plan should be prepared to ensure that the traffic system in the city is managed efficiently during the visit of the PM. During an informal interaction with the media, Bardhan said that the opening of the Delhi-Dehradun expressway will reduce the road distance between Delhi-NCR and Dehradun.This in turn will encourage tourism, enhance connectivity for the Char Dham Yatra and also boost economic activities. The chief secretary also offered prayers at Dat Kali. Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal, senior superintendent of police Pramendra Singh Dobal and municipal commissioner Namami Bansal were also present during the inspections.
