PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the State administration to set up a coordination committee of departments for the maintenance of roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). He said this committee should regularly monitor road maintenance work to ensure smooth and safe travel in rural areas.

He gave the order while reviewing the status of works related to CM’s announcements for the assembly constituencies of Didihat, Gangolihat, Kapkot and Bageshwar at the State secretariat on Monday.

In the meeting, the CM gave clear instructions to ensure prompt action on announcements for which government orders (GO) have not yet been issued. He said that GOs should be issued on pending announcements within a maximum of 20 days, so that there is no delay in the implementation of the schemes. Directing the officers to work as per the State government’s motto of ‘simplification, solution, resolution and satisfaction’, the CM said issues in public welfare projects should be resolved promptly in coordination with the local MLAs.

In the meeting, the CM directed all District Magistrates to regularly review forest land transfer cases at the district level. He called for expediting forest land-related processes to remove obstacles to development work. Dhami also stressed the need to further strengthen departmental coordination on this issue.

The CM directed that all the patchwork of the roads should be completed before the rainy season. He also directed special attention to the development of sports infrastructure. He said that in places where land has been made available for sports grounds, the necessary funds should be released within 15 days so that construction work can begin quickly and better sports facilities can be provided to the youth.

The CM directed all officials at the meeting to prioritize public welfare projects and ensure the effective implementation of all schemes in a timely manner. He stated that the State government is committed to the overall development of the State and that no laxity will be tolerated.

MLAs Bishan Singh Chuphal, Suresh Gadiya, Parvati Das and Fakir Ram attended the meeting through virtual medium.

Chief secretary Anand Bardhan, principal secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram and other officers attended the meeting.
