The 150th birth anniversary of the legendary hunter and environmentalist, Edward James Corbett would be celebrated appropriately on July 25 at Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR), informed the director, CTR, Saket Badola. He further said that a commemorative event would be organised at the Nagar Palika auditorium in Ramnagar at 11 AM on that day. The State Forest minister Subodh Uniyal and a number of senior forest officers are expected to attend the programmes.
The event will feature a special film showcasing Corbett’s life, along with a theatrical performance by local artists depicting key moments from his life. Eminent speakers will also share memories and insights related to Corbett during the programme.
During the event, a Special Day Cover dedicated to Corbett will also be released, Badola said, adding that a series of programmes would simultaneously be held across various ranges of the reserve, including Kalagarh, Dhangarhi, Kotdwar and Kaladhungi.
