The Uttarakhand Berozgar Sangh (UBS) leaders alleged that sub-inspector Arti Arora, who is posted in the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) in Haldwani, secured her job using a fake class XII marksheet and a fake graduation marksheet. Addressing the media on Saturday, UBS president Ram Kandwal said that the organisation has launched a campaign called Operation Thunder Blast to expose people from outside the State who allegedly got government jobs using fake documents.

Kandwal claimed that Arora used fake educational documents to get her job. He alleged that she completed her class X in 2006 and after five years obtained a class XII marksheet from an institution named Bhartiya Shiksha Sanstha in Allahabad. He claimed that when UBS members searched for the institution online, they found a contact number and were allegedly asked to pay Rs 12,000 to get a class XII marksheet made.

He further said that the UBS had filed an RTI with the Ministry of Education and received a reply stating that the institution was not registered. Kandwal also alleged that Arora completed her graduation from a university in Jodhpur, but during an investigation by the Rajasthan Special Task Force (STF), the institution was found to be fake and involved in issuing fraudulent certificates. He claimed that the STF and SOG reports clearly mention that the graduation certificate was fake.

The group has announced that they will meet director general of police Deepam Seth and demand Arora’s dismissal. Kandwal warned that if no action is taken, the organisation will stage a protest outside the DGP office. He also alleged that a senior politician is protecting Arora and said the politician’s name would be revealed at the right time.
