The Civil Engineering Laboratory established at Uttarakhand State Centre of the Institution of Engineers (India) has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation for Testing and Calibration Laboratories. While addressing the programme organised on this occasion, the managing director, Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL), Sandeep Singhal said he was happy over the accreditation of the laboratory and added that this would prove to be an important step towards ensuring the quality of construction of civil structures such as buildings, roads, bridges and tunnels among others being built in the State. He further said that the laboratory should also prove useful for the remote areas of the State.
Giving information about the laboratory, the former national president of the institute, Narendra Singh said that the laboratory had been established by the Uttarakhand Centre of the Institute of Engineers in collaboration with UJVNL.
