U’khand Tourism receives ICRT India-Subcontinent Silver Award-2025

While addressing the ICRT Indian Subcontinent’s Responsible Tourism Awards-2025 and BLTM Trade Show organised at IICC in New Delhi on Saturday, the State Tourism and Culture minister, Satpal Maharaj said that inspired by the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the State government has been encouraging sustainable development and investment in the tourism sector under the dynamic guidance of the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Uttarakhand Tourism has been presented with the ICRT India-Subcontinent Silver Award-2025 on the occasion. “We firmly believe that development should be harmonious with nature. Besides, we stress on local people taking direct benefits from development works,” he added. 
Expressing satisfaction over Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board being included in the list of the award winners, he said that this recognition shows that the State government is on the right track regarding its policies and initiatives on rural tourism, home-stay scheme and environmental protection. “We have been striving hard to build up a sustainable tourism model,” he averred.
He also congratulated all those organisations, entrepreneurs and communities which have figured in this year’s recognition list.
On this occasion, a memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Tourism department, Uttarakhand and ICRT (India Foundation) for a responsible tourism partnership.
A total of 17 organisations from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Maldives were included in the list of ICRT Indian Subcontinent Responsible Tourism Awards.
