While addressing a press conference at the State Congress headquarters here on Monday, the Uttarakhand Congress chief spokesperson, Garima Mehra Dasauni said that the much-vaunted Chief Minister Women Sustainable Livelihood Scheme has fallen flat thanks to the inefficiency of the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department. “We suspect irregularities in the implementation of the scheme. This is surprising in view of the training imparted for several years for the scheme’s smooth execution. The beneficiaries are yet to receive the grant of Rs 50,000 and so they keep making futile rounds of the department and the NGO concerned for the past three years. Shockingly, the department now states that the funds have been handed to the NGO. The question is: in that case, where the money has gone?” she asked. .
