Uttarakhand to prepare SOP for safety of employees

Uttarakhand government will prepare a standard operating procedure (SOP) for ensuring security of the government offices and employees in the State. A decision in this regard was taken by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in a meeting with the representatives of different employee associations at his residence on Monday. In the meeting, the preventatives of teachers and employee association told the CM that incidents such as the assault on the Primary Education director in his office on February 21 should be prevented. After hearing the grievances of the employees, the CM said that the State government is serious on the issue of safety and respecting the dignity of the employees. He immediately directed the chief secretary Anand Bardhan to prepare a SOP for the safety of the officers, employees and teachers. The CM also directed the State director general (DG) police to ensure proper security arrangements at the government offices. He also directed the police to take quick legal action in such cases. On a stern note, the CM directed the senior superintendent of police of Dehradun to take action as per the law against those involved in the incident in the education directorate on Saturday.
The vice president of State Medicinal Plants board Pratap Singh Panwar, president of Uttarakhand Adhikari Karmchari Shikshak Morcha Ram Singh Chauhan, general secretary Mukesh Bahuguna and others were part of the delegation of the employee unions.
