The Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) director general Durgesh Pant was felicitated for his outstanding work in science and technology by Vice President CP Radhakrishnan during a national conference on transforming tribal lives through science and technology in New Delhi on Sunday.

Addressing a technical session at the event, Pant explained that science and technology not only simplify life but also play a vital role in the livelihoods, health, education and conservation of natural resources of tribal communities. He emphasised that by combining local resources and traditional knowledge with modern technology, effective steps can be taken towards sustainable development.
