Plains have continued to witness hot and humid weather while the mountains experienced some relief with light rain in the State on Saturday. Meanwhile, the State Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Dehradun, Nainital and Pithoragarh districts on Sunday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain / thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Nainital and Pithoragarh districts. Very light to light rain / thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in remaining mountainous districts while dry weather is likely to prevail in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. Thunder cloud development is likely to occur in some areas towards afternoon/evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 37 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures reported on Saturday were 37.4 degrees Celsius and 24.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 37.7 degrees Celsius and 25.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25 degrees Celsius and 14.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27.4 degrees Celsius and 15.5 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
