World Herbal Encyclopaedia by Patanjali a wonder: Balkrishna

While addressing the Doon Book Festival which had begun in Parade Ground here on April 4, Acharya Balkrishna said that the completion of the World Herbal Encyclopaedia by Patanjali through years of hard work is a testament of the impossible becomes possible. “Whereas the World Health Organisation failed to complete things, we have taken things to conclusion, proving that determination is all that matters,” he said.
Sharing details, he said that the WHO had stated the ambitious project in 1999. “In 2010, after nearly 11 years of hard work, it halted the project. The reason was clear: the task seemed too vast, complex, and nearly impossible for them. But through perseverance and research, we have made it,” he said.
He further said that Patanjali Yogpeeth had begun the work in 2003-04 and it had been completed in 2022 after nearly two decades of continuous research and compilation.
