The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) on Monday alleged that “anti-social elements” are spreading false information to defame the party and its members, with leaders describing the claims as baseless and politically motivated.

The party has been marred with controversies lately, with its leaders saying that the opposition has been spreading a false narrative about UKD being the party of hooligans.

Addressing a Press conference, party central secretary Saumya Pahadi said that the allegations circulating against the regional party were “malicious” and aimed at damaging its public image.

He added that those spreading misinformation were avoiding discussion on core governance issues such as crime and public administration and instead targeting a party that played a role in the formation of Uttarakhand.

President of the party’s youth wing Mahanagar Jatin Singh Chauhan also criticised what he described as misleading content being circulated about the party on social media platforms. Chauhan claimed such activities have increased as the party’s grassroots support base expands in the State.

Chauhan warned that the party would take appropriate action if the circulation of what it termed false information continued and said that those responsible would be held accountable. He added that the party remains focused on raising public issues and safeguarding the interests of Uttarakhand residents.

UKD youth wing vice president Siddharth Saklani echoed similar views, reiterating the organisation’s commitment to public welfare and regional concerns.
