As part of Wildlife Week, a fancy dress competition was held on Tuesday under the direction of the director of Nainital Zoo and divisional forest officer, Akash Gangwar. Young children from grades 1 to 5 of various schools participated in the competition. The theme of the programme was ‘The Wildlife of the Zoo.’ The children performed on stage in the wildlife costumes posing as lions, deer, peacocks, elephants, monkeys and butterflies, spreading the message of wildlife conservation.
Under the Wildlife Week, 120 students from various schools were also given a free tour of the zoo.
