16 ISKCON devotees injured after bus overturns en route to shrine

Sixteen devotees of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) were injured when the mini-bus they were travelling in overturned on Saturday. The persons were travelling to Delhi to Patal Bhuwaneshwar when the Tempo Traveller they were in overturned near the Kalna bend on the Bageshwar- Pithoragarh road. The visitors have reportedly sustained minor injuries.
According to sources, a group of devotees of ISKCON had arrived here from Delhi. After paying obeisance at the Bagnath temple in Bageshwar, the group was travelling to Patal Bhuwaneshwar on Saturday morning. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle near the Kalna bend located on the Bageshwar-Kanda road, causing the vehicle to turn over on its side on the road.
On receiving information about the mishap, a team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) also reached the site. The police and the local people took the injured to the district hospital in ambulances. According to the hospital administration, two of the passengers had sustained fractures on their hands while the rest had sustained minor injuries. According to the police, the injured persons were discharged from the hospital after treatment. The police are probing the accident.
